“Get Your Kicks”
Story Behind the Name
Route 66 is an earworm of a song. You know, the kind that once it’s stuck in your head, you can’t get it out for days? On this shoot, all one of us need to say was “Get Your Kicks….” and someone in he car would return volley “….on Route 66”. Then it was stuck and like clockwork, one of us was whistling it a few hours later. That’s an earworm and now, the song is stuck in your head too.
On this episode of UTR it’s another Road Trip, and this time we’re getting our kicks on our own Route 66. We’ll float over a long lake on the Ironton Ferry, show you where fish come from at the Jordan River National Fish Hatchery, and stop for some smoky selections at Denslow’s Smokehouse. Then we count Six Lakes in a kayak, meet ice cream makin mammals at Mooville Creamery and even see some groovy gators at the Critchlow Alligator Sanctuary. Get ready to explore the cool people, places and things that make Michigan’s Route 66 a great place to ride.
