Elizabeth sent us straight to a place right in downtown Ishpeming called Wilderness Sports. Being a down-state flatlander, I needed some help, and they hooked me up with everything I needed to become a genuine Yooper. Sandee Sundquist took me through the store personally and set me up with choppers (a.k.a. mittens), socks, two pairs of long johns (I have skinny legs) and even a pair of snowshoes. Becoming a Yooper with Sandee was a blast and she was a real good sport, which totally makes sense, because that’s exactly what they do at Wilderness Sports.
