When we shot this segment, Ryan and Nicole Schultz owned Toy Town, a progressive and really cool toy store right downtown. Their mission is to provide families, young and old, the opportunity of adventure, imagination and discovery inside, outside and everywhere in between. This is a really cool place that will thrill your youngins and totally make you feel like a kid again. At Toy Town they’re always searching for new products to engage, entertain, educate and enlighten your little ones. Just walking through the store is fun. I spent about $60 at the store (partly for me) and loved the experience. If you’ve got little ones at home, or there’s still a little one in you, check out Toy Town. Okay… it was mostly for me. 🙂
We also stumbled upon something very cool called The Sound Garden. It’s a rustic musical art sculpture that’s not only fun to look at, it also makes music. It was a community art project created by local artist Frank Youngman for all to enjoy. It’s located at the headwaters of the Clam River Greenway and is an art installation with built-in musical instruments like a log drum, xylophones and chimes created from recycled brake drums. Very unique and very cool. When you’re there, you should really check it out. Just ask a local. They’ll tell you where to find it.
After a full day of exploring, the crew was getting tired of my antics, so we decided to look for a great place to eat and a comfortable place to sleep. This is where the story gets good, because we found both at the same place right downtown.
