We were lucky enough to be on the island during the Mackinac Island Christmas Bazaar. It’s the islanders’ big Christmas celebration that happens every year in early December. The entire island shows up at the old town hall to sell handmade crafts, eat good food and auction off unique island items, and it’s all to raise money for the island hospital and school. Walking into the bazaar was like stepping back to a time in early America when people got together to share everything they made. From hand-crafted gifts to homemade foods, the bazaar was a true reflection of this close island community.
