“Grateful Bread”

Story Behind the Name
Tom made a pun in the Brick Oven segment and it stuck. Greatful Bread is not the funniest joke you’ll hear on UTR, but we love knee slappers and the groaners alike.

Cheboygan

In Northern Lower Michigan, at the mouth of the Cheboygan river is a town of the same name that’s been callin ‘our’ name to come back. So we did … That was easy !

There’s a bit of a mystery about what the name Cheboygan means. But to us here at UTR it means a great northern Michigan town where you can relax, eat, play or even stay for a lifetime. Back in the day it was a huge lumber town. Now it’s big on hometown atmosphere, awesome stores to explore, interesting eateries and a waterfront that’s become a way of life. There are some who say the name comes from an Ojibwe word meaning “through passage” … well, if you are passing through … I suggest you stop.
