We were dying to give these bikes a try, so we met up with Jason Lowetz at Einstein Cycles. Jason rents them, sells them and knows all the best places in and around Traverse City to ride them. Jason suggested a great system of trails not far from his shop, so off we went. Once we got out and on the trail and in the deep snow, I was simply amazed. The trails were completely snow covered and hilly, and we had a ton of fun on the fat-tire bikes. It was unbelievable how smooth the ride was and how stable they were in the snow. I’m an avid cyclist during the summer months, so to be able to get out and ride like this in the winter was a real treat.
If you’re looking for a new winter sport or just a bike you can ride through almost anything, fat-tire bikes are a blast. And believe me, you’ll pick it up quick. After all, it’s just like riding a bike!
