“My Guitar is Worth $12.50”
Story Behind the Name
Tom was convinced his guitar was a relic that was going to be the ticket to his retirement and an escape from the idiots on the crew. As it turned out, the experts at Elderly had other plans. $12.50 doesn’t even buy a round of beer at Founders. Nice try, Tom. You’re stuck with us for a while.
Detroit
No city in America has more heart and soul or is making a stronger comeback than Detroit. Market-making entrepreneurs and modern urban developments are cropping up everywhere, and for good reason. Detroit has a tremendous amount of history, culture, entertainment and unique shopping to offer. It’s like any big metropolitan city. If you know where to go, your experience can be richly rewarding. Believe me; there’s a ton to discover.
As we all know, Detroit has a long and rich history of manufacturing automobiles. It literally put the world on wheels. Detroit also has a rich heritage in music. We all know about Bob Seger, Kid Rock, Eminem and of course all the Motown greats. But did you know that in the 1930s and 40s Detroit was one of the premier jazz cities in America? All the jazz greats from around world came to play the dinner clubs in Detroit, and one of those historic clubs is back.
Lansing
When you think of Lansing, what do you think about? Most of us think of the capitol building, where state legislators work day in and day out to keep Michigan moving forward. We also think about the great halls of justice like the Michigan Supreme Court, where people are protected and our rights are preserved. Yes, Lansing is a place where noble minds work tirelessly to make Michigan a great place to be. But if you haven’t been to Lansing since that last school field trip, you’re in for a big surprise. Tons of young people and cool new businesses are reconnecting with the city and making Lansing one of the best places in Michigan to make a great future.
Battle Creek
The people of Battle Creek have done an outstanding job combining history, nature, commerce and entertainment to make it an awesome place to live, work and play. Battle Creek has a downtown on a mission, and I’d say mission accomplished. There are great restaurants, unique shops, great places to stay and a winding river walk that brings it all back home. And like many metropolitan areas, people are moving back downtown to enjoy the ease and convenience of city living.
