“Swamp Rabbit”
Story Behind the Name
Ahhh. Swamp Rabbit. Sometimes you know exactly what you’re in for with a segment. Then there’s the infamous muskrat segment in Wyandotte. You just never know. We’re glad we did it. We’re glad we don’t have to do the same segment over and over. We ate it. It was good, but not, “I’m craving me a swamp rabbit” kind of good. You know? If you’re not sure what I’m referring to, go to our website and watch episode thirteen of season one.
Lansing
Lansing, Michigan attracts people for a lot of different reasons. It’s the capital city, so a lot of people go there to help move Michigan forward. It’s also a beautiful city that does a great job of mixing modern urban living with great natural places. We went to the Lansing area to discover three great Michigan stories and to find out why Lansing is continually voted not only one of the best places to start a new business, but also one of the best places for young people looking for opportunity.
Lansing’s historic Old Town area is a thriving collection of new, innovative and creative restaurants and businesses. Young people have reclaimed the area and turned it into one of the most fun and interesting places to go in Michigan. One of these people is Chad Jordan. He’s smart, focused and motivated. Now combine all that with a good idea, and you’ve got a recipe for success.
Wyandotte
Wyandotte is one of the oldest cities in Michigan, so it’s rich in both history and tradition. It’s also become one of the most modern and forward thinking communities in the entire Midwest. Wyandotte is known as “The heart of Downriver,” and I can see why. Everyone I talked to had a lot of heart and a ton of love for this place.
If you’re looking for a new community to explore, Wyandotte has fun, interesting and your name written all over it.
