This little pink building in Kawkawlin, Michigan is a landmark for people who know what they love, and what they love is a great turkey dinner with all the trimmings whenever they want it.
The owner Todd Ballor eats, thinks, sleeps, serves and even talked turkey with me. He worked there as a kid, came back to buy it and is carrying on the tradition of serving delicious homemade turkey dinners. Not only do the locals love this place, people from all over the Midwest make the pilgrimage there all times of the year. The Turkey Roost is an icon, a tradition for thousands and an anchor to this town. We came real hungry and left real full with a real appreciation for what Todd and the Turkey Roost are all about: friends, family and community. Oh, and a homemade turkey dinner any time you want it… bonus!
