You know, my mom used to make cookies for me all the time, and they were pretty good, but I don’t remember her having a store in Harbor Springs…Tom’s Mom’s Cookies are award-winning homemade cookies that are baked right in a cute little house in Harbor Springs and shipped literally around the world. If you’re looking for a big cookie that tastes like my mom used to make, you’ve come to the right little place. Believe it or not, during the summer as many as 1,500 homemade cookies will go out the door of this little house and into eager tummies. All made from scratch. And the chocolate chunks they use are as big as your fist.

The day we stopped by, Zen Cookie Master Kelly was at the oven making Tom’s Mom’s Cookie magic. She’s made more cookies there than most of us will eat in a lifetime. When I asked her to name off all seventeen varieties they bake, she did so with great enthusiasm and rapid fire.

Here they are, exactly as she recited them: Chocolate Chunk, Chocolate Pecan, Chocolate Walnut, Chocolate Macadamia, White Chocolate Macadamia, Chocolate Cherry, White Chocolate Cherry, Cinnamon Sugar Dark, Cinnamon Sugar White, Chocolate Almond Coconut, White Original, Plain Peanut Butter, Chocolate Peanut Butter, Molasses, Oatmeal Raisin, Chocolate Oatmeal and Oatmeal with Butterscotch. Wow! And who knows, they may have added a few since we were there last.

People really do love these cookies. We even ran into a guy that claimed to be there all the way from Key West, Florida for his Tom’s Mom’s Cookie fix.

So next time you’re doing a little too much talking (like me) I highly recommend filling your mouth with some Tom’s Mom’s Cookies. By the time you’re done eating them, you just might forget what the heck you were talking about in the first place. I do it all the time.
