Now, let’s talk jazz. The River Raisin Jazz Festival happens every summer right in downtown Monroe on the banks of the Historic River Raisin. It’s one of the largest and best free jazz festivals in the entire country. The festival takes place at St. Mary’s Park, and every year over fifty thousand people come to see some of the biggest names in jazz, including Kenny G, Chuck Mangione, David Sanborn, Bob James, Arturo Sandoval, Spyro Gyra, Earl Klugh, Chris Botti, Ray Parker Jr., Nelson Rangell, Larry Carlton, Rick Braun and many, many more.
This is a great four-day family friendly event that features great food, outstanding live performances and beautiful views of the river. It’s a wonderful way to expand your musical horizons.
