The Old Mission Inn was built in 1869, and their motto is, “Come as strangers, leave as friends.” Angie Jensen and her husband Bruce own and operate the inn, and they’ve gone to great lengths to preserve the inn’s incredible history. The grounds are breathtaking and the inside of the inn is an incredible walk back through time. Believe it or not, Angie and Bruce are only the fourth owners of the inn. The first owner had it thirty-three years, the second forty-three and the third fifty-three. They’ve only owned it fifteen, so they have a lot more history yet to help create at the inn.

The Old Mission Inn is a place where you can relax, regroup, and at the same time, learn a tremendous amount about northern Michigan’s illustrious past. It’s a place whose former guest list not only spans the globe but includes the likes of Joe Louis and even Babe Ruth.
