The Midtown Bakery & Café is a funky, cool gourmet bakery and sandwich shop that’ll tempt you with just about everything they serve there. Marybeth Kurtz is the pleasant proprietor who makes it all happen every single day.
If you ever get the chance, this is one wonderful, colorful little place. It’s a combination restaurant, bakery, coffee shop and quaint café, and all the food is fresh and lovingly prepared. Heck, we liked it so much, we went back three times before we headed home.
Marybeth opened her doors sixteen years ago, started experimenting with cheesecakes and is now the undisputed queen of this tasty treat. If you love cheesecake, you’ve got well over one hundred flavors to try there. We tried a variety, and those extra pounds I was talking about earlier to stay warm? I’m pretty sure I added a bit more insulation before we left.
