We’ve been driving by it for years … but we finally decided to stop at She Shell City … no, it’s Sea Sell shi … hold on … I better go practice this.
Well, you almost heard right … It’s Sea Shell City (try saying that three times fast) and it’s been a classic, iconic tourist stop for decades. It’s located on the east side of I-75 just a few miles south of the Mackinac Bridge, and if you’re looking for the life aquatic … it’s high tide here.
You’ll find eleventy-billion shells from around the world in one cool and colorful place. It’s also home to the infamous Man Killing Giant Clam … 500 lbs. of man-crushing mussel that I just had to see.
So, next time you’re driving up or down I-75 and you see a sign that’s hard to say, stop at Sea Shell City. It’s a tropical treat in a temperate zone that offers plenty of shells for you to take home !!!
