There are two simple reasons we wanted to stop by Reserve in downtown Grand Rapids. One was the stunning décor. This award-winning restaurant has a modern, sophisticated and metropolitan feel that instantly tells you this is a place to see and be seen. Put Reserve in New York, L.A. or San Francisco and it would fit right in.
All the furniture in the restaurant was made locally, and the private rooms there are outstanding. The building was built in 1914 and was originally a bank. One of the private rooms even has the actual bank vault in it where the premium wines are stored.
Reserve is also known for its incredible selection of cheese and charcuterie. They take great care in selection, preparation and presentation. They source locally and serve seasonally, so it’s a true gourmet Michigan experience. Everything about Reserve is exactly what you’d expect. It’s a very cool place with great food and awesome people.
