Some people consider themselves winners, which is cool… but me? I call myself a luger. That’s right, I’m a luger and proud of it. Why? Because luging is one of the most funnest things you can do in the winter. And believe it or not, you can do it right here in Michigan at the Muskegon Winter Sports Complex. A place where even winners can be lugers!

There are only a handful of luge tracks in the United States, and this is one of only a couple that will let you come in, take a quick lesson and try it for yourself. At the Muskegon Winter Sports Complex, they’re all about fun, safety and doing things right, so after a brief session on equipment, safety and technique, I grabbed a sled, headed up the steps to the top and let gravity take care of the rest. And, you know me… I went from idiot to expert in the blink of an eye. I’ll admit it; I was a little scared at the top. But by the time I got to the bottom, I was hooked.

Aside from the luge run, the Muskegon Winter Sports Complex has more winter activities than you can shake a snow shoe at. You can glide through the woods on groomed ice skating trails, go cross country skiing or even get yourself into a game of hockey. It’s a great, healthy place that will cure the whole family of cabin fever in a single afternoon. Heck, this place is so cool, they even use the original Zamboni machine from Madison Square Garden in New York to resurface their ice… classic!

So if you want to feel like a winner this winter, try luging at the Muskegon Winter Sports Complex. Once you try it, you’ll be a luger just like me. Only probably better.
