“Go Fetch, Rusty”
Story Behind the Name
Ritch Branstrom created the best found-object dog ever, Rusty, who is made of car parts, tree trunks and other stuff. Rusty was a good dog. Awful at playing ball, but he was a good dog.
Grand Rapids is a city that’s full of innovation, forward motion and great energy. Everywhere you look, great things are happening. It’s a metropolitan city with great restaurants, culture, history, beauty and tons of business opportunities. If you’re looking for a place to live, work or play anywhere in the world,
I’d put GR on your list.
And, as always, Grand Rapids lived up to its reputation as one of the greatest places in the world to live, work or play on the planet. Disclaimer: I don’t know about the other planets. I’ve only been to this one.
Next we went to beautiful Mt. Pleasant, smack dab in the middle of Michigan’s mitten, and “pleasant” is the perfect word for this town. It’s the kind of place that when you get there, you instantly feel like it’s your hometown. Mt. Pleasant continues to move into a positive future for a ton of reasons, but the biggest one is Central Michigan University. It’s the home of the Chippewa and more than 20,000 students expanding both their minds and Michigan’s future.
Well, you know us at UTR, we weren’t in town ten minutes before we decided to find some great places to eat. Turns out we found three without hardly trying.
There’s a revolution going on in Mt. Pleasant right now, but there’s no need to be alarmed, and no need to stay in your homes, because this revolution is all about flour power… solid!
As for Mt. Pleasant, be forewarned: you won’t find an actual mountain there. What you will find is a very cool city with a real sense of place and community. Oh, and some pretty darn good food!
