“I Have the Feeling I’m Being Watched…”
Story Behind the Name
You ever get that feeling? You ever get that feeling when a three-foot-tall eye is on the wall behind you?
Ludington is another one of those Michigan cities that has everything you need for great living. For starters, the state park there is one of the best anywhere. It’s got miles of beautiful sand beaches, huge sand dunes to explore and tons of hiking trails. As for the city, you couldn’t ask for a better setting. Ludington Avenue takes you right down to the shores of Lake Michigan, and all along the way you’ve got great shops, cool restaurants and some pretty unique art galleries. There are also great neighborhoods just steps from downtown.
Ludington truly is one of Michigan’s west coast jewels. We came, we saw, we ate, we drank, we laughed, and if we play our cards right, we’ll be back to do it all over again.
When we heard that Rogers City had the only stop light in Presque Isle County, we didn’t really know what to expect, but I’ll be honest: this town was one of the nicest surprises we’ve run into yet on UTR. The town is spacious, classic Americana, and it’s spotless, with street after street of well-kept homes and beautifully landscaped yards. It’s the kind of town you roll into and say, “I could totally live here.” Rogers City is also a harbor town with a great nautical history and very cool places to live and play right on Lake Huron.
And, if you want another great Michigan place to explore, try Rogers City. We did. And we will again. If we don’t get lost.
