This six block public market isn’t just open in the summer, it’s alive year round with great places to eat, cool places to shop and, oh yea more than 250 vendors and merchants processing, wholesaling, and retailing, that’s right “food.” Every Saturday you’ll see people from all walks, walking the market in search of fruits, vegetables, flowers, homemade jams, maple syrups, locally produced specialty food products, and fresh meats...you name it, it's here. It’s a fascinating conglomeration of character, characters and crates and crates of fresh edibles.

"Hungry Village Tours" is a great way to get a behind the scenes view of all the things that make this area such a great food destination. Creator and self-proclaimed local food nut, David Geen was our tour guide for the day, so first things first.

Evergreen Lane farm is a Goat farm that's producing some amazing Artisinal cheeses, and it's just another one of the great places you'll experience on the tour.

Our next stop was Salt of the Earth in downtown Fenville where chef Matt Pietsch prepared us an amazing lunch which focused on the restaurant's simple philosophy.

Now our last discovery in Saugatuck might be tough to find, but when you do you’ll swear someone put you into one of those Star Trek teleporter machines and sent you straight to the tropics. The Red Dock Café is a little bit Jamaica, a little Key West...and a whole lota fun. The atmosphere is relaxed and casual, the music is great, the people are super friendly, the food is top notch, and just being her made even me feel like I was cool.
