It’s called Dinosaur Gardens, it’s just south of Alpena and it’s an absolute trip… back in time. The park is a walking tour that lets you see what dinosaurs must have looked like as they roamed the earth millions of years ago. It’s set in a forest, so as you walk through, you get the feeling of what it would be like to see these giants doing their thing in a natural environment.

It’s so awesome to walk right up to life-sized, realistic replicas of all kinds of dinosaurs. They even have some really cool caveman exhibits that show what their lives must have been like. My two favorites are the T-Rex and the Triceratops. They have them squared off across the path because apparently they used to fight, and believe it or not, the triceratops would win a good percentage of the time. Dinosaur Gardens is a wonderful family excursion, and it’s something the kids will never forget. It’s like going to Jurassic Park, only you’ll have no trouble getting away from these dinosaurs. They don’t move.
